Toys such as Tamagotchis are often called virtual pets, this is because they simulate the bringing up of a pet in an electronic form. When the Tamagotchi is first used there is an egg that hatches, this could be a boy or a girl and it is then the child's job to look after and nurture the pet, when the pet eventually dies then the sequence starts over again so the child can raise another virtual pet but can do it in different ways. The Tamagotchi is controlled by small buttons with a simple menu system so most children will be able to master the controls fairly quickly, the Tamagotchis also feature a small LCD screen that allows the child to see what their virtual pet is doing and what kind of mood it is in.
The mood that the Tamagotchi is in is important as this tells the child what action should be taken, if the Tamagotchi is hungry then feeding it will improve it's happiness or if it is bored then playing with the Tamagotchi will also improve it's happiness, the happier the Tamagotchi is the more fun will be had when playing with it. If the Tamagotchi is neglected and becomes very unhappy then it will die so keeping the Tamagotchis happy is very important, if you keep them very happy they will want to play games with you and show affection.
The Tamagotchis are now on version 2 and are known as Tamagotchi Connexion Version 2 (this is often miss spelt Tamagotchi Connection), the old version 1 Tamagotchis had less features and a smaller LCD screen. The version 2 Tamagotchi Connexions have some cool features, they can interact with other Tamagotchi Connexions (version 2 only) using infra-red technology. This means that the Tamagotchi Connexions can play with each other and exchange items using the infra-red connection, this adds greatly to the fun and is great if the child you are buying the Tamagotchi Connexion for has friends with more Tamagotchi Connexion toys. The infra-red connection will only work with Tamagotchis that are near by but the connection will work for a few metres, a direct line of sight is also needed with the infra-red connection as any objects in the way may block the connection.
The Tamagotchi Connexion Version 2 also has more games so will provide more entertainment and also has a shop where the children can buy items such as food and toys for their pet, the children gain money by playing games that they can then spend in the shop treating their virtual pet. You can also buy cheats in the shop or you can find cheats online, these allow you to do special things with your virtual pet or make it easier to look after. There are also many colours available for the Tamagotchis and they include purple, pink, silver, orange, black, yellow, gold, blue and others. The Tamagotchi Connexion Version 1 is still available in many online shops but it is not as good as the version 2 so we recommend that you buy the version 2 as most shops have these now.
So Tamagotchis are a fun electronic toy that simulate the life of a virtual pet, they teach children about caring and are also lots of fun. The main version is the Tamagotchi Connexion Version 2 which has better games and infra-red technology so that the Tamagotchi Connexion Version 2 can communicate with other Tamagotchis, you can still buy the version 1 toys but they are not as good. If you are looking for a cheap Tamagotchi then have a good shop around, they are quite cheap anyway but lots of shops so have cheap special offers and deals so finding a cheap Tamagotchi should be quite easy.
